Obesity is a global problem according to the World Health Organisation (WHO).From 1995 – 2003, the number of obese adults worldwide has grown from 200 million to 400 million, that’s a 100% increase in 8 years. In Ireland, 60% of adults and 50% of children are overweight. Obesity could lead to more than 300,000 premature deaths each year in the US, of which 90,000 are preventable cancer related deaths. Severely obese men die on average 13 years earlier than men of normal weight. As a killer in the US, obesity is second only to tobacco.

There are many different weight loss programs to choose from. Quick weight loss plans, fad diets, trendy diets, books, videos and programs – the list goes on and on. But it is more difficult for some people to choose the right weight loss program. Making the right choice could save your life and a fortune. Acupuncture is one of the oldest systems of healing in the world, and a component of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Recently, acupuncture has been widely used for weight control in China and worldwide. It can lower insulin levels and lipid levels in the blood. Promote fat metabolism to lower body weight. It decreases excessive appetites and makes it easier to satisfy your hunger with less food. It decreases menopausal weight gain.  It can help the body to release endorphins which have a calming and relaxing effect that makes it easier to deal with stress, frustration and anxiety that can trigger overeating and bingeing on fattening foods. Also endorphins affect the digestive and hormonal systems so acupuncture can help rebalance the organ systems that are running too fast- or in this case too slow—i.e., the metabolism and the will-power.

Experienced Chinese Medicine practitioners Qiong-di Wu will design your own personalised weight loss program based on your Chinese Pattern Diagnosis. You must first come in for a consultation to discuss your particular pattern of overeating, and let the practitioner know in your intake form if there are any real digestive difficulties. Then the acupuncturist would check your pulse to discern the general state of your energy and measure the health of your stomach energy in particular, and then they would look at your tongue to check for cracks, peeling or puffiness on the stomach area, or a suspicious yellow or thick white coating that might indicate troublesome heat or coldness in the stomach and would provide some clues as to why the person was gaining weight. You can lose up to 2 lbs, some even 5-7 1bs per week without feeling hungry. It’s a safe and naturally healthy way to manage your weight loss and gives long-term results. According to Qiongdi Wu’s weight loss program, it is easy to lose a stone in 4-6 weeks, 2 and a half stone in 12 weeks. This program will help you to increase energy, burn fat, detox, balance your excess or deficiency condition, lose pounds & inches, feel better than you ever have before.

Linda, 21, and Tom, 51, two of Qiongdi Wu’s clients, have had a weight problem for many years. They have both tried Dr. Wu’s new special weight loss program offered only on 76 Wilton Road, Wilton, Cork and Midleton. Linda lost 14 1bs (one stone) in four weeks. Tim lost 35 1bs (2 and half stones) in three month. “Inch melted away from my waist and pounds disappeared before my eye. I have gone from a size 40+inch waist to 34inch. The real purpose of a belt is: A belt should not be used to hold your stomach in. the real purpose of a belt is to hold your trousers up,” Tim said. "I feel great. I'm not craving chocolates or fatty foods, I feel more calmed and relaxed, less stressed, more energetic and can focus on my work," said Linda. Acupuncture weight loss is a fact, not a fantasy.
